Tax card effective from January – get a revised tax card for benefits now
Starting from 2025, tax cards will become effective at the beginning of January, whereas previously they took effect in February. From now on, daily allowance recipients should submit a revised tax card for benefits to the fund no later than the end of the year.
Starting from 2025, the current year’s tax card will affect the withholding tax on daily allowance payments from January onward. Previously, earnings-related daily allowance could be paid in January based on the previous year’s tax rate.
The tax card effective at the beginning of January applies to salary income, which means the withholding tax rate for benefit payments will be raised to at least 25%, even if the tax rate on the card is lower.
We recommend that daily allowance recipients order a revised tax card for benefits, as this ensures the withholding tax rate is calculated based on benefit income. In this case, the withholding tax rate can be less than 25%. It is advisable to order the revised tax card as soon as possible.
