Membership in the unemployment fund
This application form is intended only for members of the Finnish Psychological Association (Suomen Psykologiliitto) and those applying for membership in the union. If you are not yet a member of the union, please first complete the union membership application.
When you belong to the Unemployment Fund for Education and Science through the Finnish Psychological Association, you pay the unemployment fund membership fee as part of the union membership fee.
A paid employee who has completed a higher education degree, or who works in the field of education, teaching, psychology, or research, or is engaged in development or advocacy work in these fields may become a member of the Unemployment Fund for Education and Science. A student who has been admitted to higher education degree studies and is simultaneously engaged in paid employment relating to their field of study may also become a member.
Please fill in the membership application form(opens in new window, you move to another service) below (currently available only in Finnish). Note that you cannot join the unemployment fund retroactively. Membership in the fund can start no earlier than the date on which the application for membership has arrived at the fund. Payment of the membership fee is a prerequisite for the start and maintenance of membership.
Once we have processed your application, you will receive a notification of whether your membership has been approved or rejected.
Fill in the application form(opens in new window, you move to another service) below (currently available only in Finnish) if you are already a member of the Unemployment Fund for Education and Science, either directly (as an individual member of the fund) or through another trade union, and wish to continue as a member of the unemployment fund via the the Union of Research Professionals.
On the form, under the section “Opetus ja tiede -työttömyyskassan jäsenyys” select the option “Olen jo Opetus ja tiede -työttömyyskassan jäsen. Haluan jatkaa työttömyyskassan jäsenenä ammattiliiton kautta.”
Once we have processed your application, you will receive a notification from the trade union confirming the continuation of your unemployment fund membership.
Please contact us if your membership in the Finnish Psychological Association (Suomen Psykologiliitto) is not approved or if you decide to resign from the trade union.
